Hello!!! sorry I went missing! It is summer time and guest time too! What are you doing this summer? Hope you all are having a great time. I am very eager to check out what you all have been up to.
So I thought I should share this wonderful, spicy North Indian favourite called Chole. You can eat it with a naan bread, pita bread, chapati or even rice! This is so easy to make but tastes so yummm! So here we go…
1 potato boiled
Everest Chole masala
Cumin seeds, Bay leaves
Soak the garbanzo beans about 1/4th kilo overnight, they double up.
Before you start you need to steam the garbanzo beans. This is traditionally made in a pressure cooker. Before putting them on a boil add about 1/2 tsp. of baking powder and salt. The beans should be boiled till they have a mashable consistency
Chop and blend tomatoes and onions into puree.
Heat 4-5 tsp of cooking oil, add the cumin seeds and a bay leaf. Add the tomato and onion puree. Shut the vessel with a lid and let it cook. Then add the Everest Chole masala stir and add the boiled garbanzo beans and mashed potato and mix well. (Add salt and chilly powder if you want it to be more spicy.)
Garnish with finely chopped onions, coriander and lime juice if you like the taste.
So that’s it!
